More care tips

The Josephine N° 4 presents fine sparkling wines in a balanced and harmonious way.

Sparkling wines such as Champagne, Sekt, Franciacorta, and Cava deserve an elegant glass like the Josephine N° 4. Its balanced shape, with a large surface area and a shortened aroma chimney, allows even complex sparkling wines to shine while ensuring a long-lasting, fine mousse. Sweet wines like Auslese, Ice Wine, Tokaji, and Sauternes also benefit from the form of this unique glass.

We recommend the Josephine N° 4 for

Transports a fine bubbly perlage and upholds its effervescence the longest. Makes even the most sophisticated, complex grower champagnes appear approachable and balanced. Tends to emphasize autolytic notes such as (brioche, bread or cookie dough aromas).

Influence on wine stlyes

Unoaked white (terroir driven) wines: Highlights flinty reductive notes and makes wines quite linear.

Unoaked white (fruit driven) wines: Focuses on primary fruit aromas and let wines appear very approachable.

Sparkling wines: Makes even the most sophisticated, complex grower champagnes appear approachable and balanced.

Lighter red wines: Expresses a fruit-forward nature and makes them easily accessible.

Sweet wines: Particularly convincing with great balance when these have an animating acid play (such as Riesling Kabinett or Spätlesen), as this harmonizes perfectly with the sweetness emphasized by the glass.

The Shape of Taste

Glass opening

The precisely calculated diameter of the glass opening allows the nose to effortlessly perceive aromas while drinking, enhancing the sensory experience.

Experience glasses that uniquely enhance the taste and aromas of wine.

The Josephine is a purely handcrafted and mouth-blown glass that stands out for its sensory qualities. Thanks to its distinctive kink, the wine absorbs more oxygen and reveals its full range of nuances. The extremely thin-walled, flexible glass feels light and balanced in the hand, delivering the wine’s aromas to the nose and palate with the finest subtleties.

Each Josephine glass is a mouth-blown and handcrafted unique piece.

The Josephine Collection, produced in the finest glassworks of Europe, is fundamentally different from machine-made glasses. It represents the fusion of traditional glassmaking craftsmanship and innovative design. Each glass is mouth-blown and crafted through a series of meticulous steps that demand extensive experience, skill, and the utmost concentration from master glassmakers. With great attention to detail, this process creates delicate yet durable glasses—designed for an unparalleled wine experience.
