We recommend the Josephine N° 2 for
Medium to highly complex white wines with less pronounced fruit and more terroir driven character as well as highend sweet wines and more complex lighter redwines.
Influence on wine styles
Unoaked (fruit driven) white wines: Shows precision and slightly reduced fruit expression.
Unoaked white (terroir driven) wines: Shows great energy, finesse and balance (e.g. for premium Rieslings, Grüner Veltliners, Pinot Blancs, Chenin and Sauvignon Blancs, from Loire region, or premium Aligotés and Chablis).
Oaked white wines: Pronounces freshness and balance (in comparison to N° 1) and shows more livelyness, but less complexity than N° 3.
Sparkling wines: Enhances the “wine-like-character” and complexity of premium traditional method sparkling wines (more pronounced tertiary aromas than N° 4).
Lighter red wines: Shows great balance between fresh, fruit forward aromas, spice notes and a juicy texture.
Heavier (oaked) and/or more complex red wines: Shows them in a more dynamic, but less complex way than N° 3 (mostly less adstringent).
Sweet wines: Shows them in a more balanced and harmonious way then N° 1.
